A RNLAF RF-16, equipped with the dutch Orpheus photographic pod, overflies the Pale area - scene of hostilities during Operation Deliberate Force - deploying defensive flares to ward off heatseeking surface- to -air missles.
Operating from Villafranca, Italy, as part of the multinational force supporting Operation Deliberate Guard, a mission unique to the dutch is photoreconnaissance by RF-16s of 306th squadron from Volkel AB.
Several thousand missions have been flown over Bosnia-Herzegovina, providing Nato and UN commanders with vital intelligence.
