From april 1993 servicemen and woman
of the RNLAF, operating both on the ground in the former Yugoslavia
and in the air from bases in Italy, have provided extensive support
for Nato and UN led peace-keeping and peace-enforcing missions in
the Balkan conflict. RNLAF F-16's in particular continue to have a
prominent role in offensive counter-air, close-air support and photoreconnaissance
operations in the region.
